Specific – What is the goal that you want to strive for? Make this specific so you know exactly what is needed to achieve the goal.
Measurable – How will you measure if you hit your goal? This should help define your specific goal to know where you need to be.
Achievable – This type of goal should be one that is a challenge, but if you focus it will be achievable. A goal to be a professional football player when you don’t even play football at 40 years old is not an achievable goal.
Realistic– Is your goal a dream that is not realistic. There is a difference between a dream that is not achievable and dream that with proper planning and execution can be achievable. This does not mean only have a goal that is easy. A goal should be a challenge for you to reach. Time Bound – You need to have a set date to achieve this goal. Without a set time you will not have the pressure to focus on your goal and you will be less likely to achieve your goal. The idea of smart goals is not new, but is overwhelming found to be one of the simplest and best ways to lay out your goals to help you succeed. Once you have your SMART goals set, going thru the program in Goals in Business, you will have a greater opportunity to succeed on your goals.
