The first question to ask is what are you trying to get from your marketing. When starting a business and you need results today to start cash flow, Direct Response marketing with Specials and Discounts with a set time frame should be what you need. In addition, having a long term plan with with TOMA (Top of Mind Awareness) will start to get your name recognizable. Having your name out their where people recognize the business when they get your direct response marketing.
Long term planning gives you a balance between Direct Response and TOMA marketing. This goes back to knowing your numbers and having goals established. When you know your goals and your numbers, you can build a budget and build a plan.
